The Nordic Plate Recipe

A light, delicious Nordic-inspired dish that’s perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients for 1 Serving:

  • 2 slices of smoked salmon
  • 1 or 2 potatoes (depending on size)
  • A few slices of avocado
  • Light and fresh sauce:
    • 2 oz (50 g) cottage cheese
    • 1 tbsp light cream
    • A squeeze of fresh lemon juice
    • A few sprigs of chives, finely chopped
    • Fresh mint leaves (optional)
    • 1 small garlic clove, finely grated
    • Salt and pepper to taste

Ingredients for 4 Servings:

  • 8 slices of smoked salmon
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 1 avocado (or more, to taste)
  • Light and fresh sauce:
    • 7 oz (200 g) cottage cheese
    • 2 tbsp light cream
    • A squeeze of fresh lemon juice
    • Chives, mint, garlic, salt, and pepper as listed above

Optional:

  • Shrimp (fresh or cooked) for an elegant touch

Preparation:

1. Prepare the Potatoes:

  1. Wash and peel the potatoes.
  2. Boil them until tender (about 15 minutes).
  3. Let them cool, then slice them into thin rounds.

2. Make the Light Sauce:

  1. In a bowl, mix the cottage cheese and light cream.
  2. Add a squeeze of lemon juice for a fresh, tangy flavor.
  3. Stir in the chopped chives, mint (if using), and grated garlic.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Chill until ready to serve.

3. Assemble the Plate:

  1. Arrange the potato slices neatly on a plate.
  2. Add a few creamy avocado slices.
  3. Place the smoked salmon slices elegantly on the plate.
  4. Add a dollop of the fresh sauce in the center or on the side.

4. Add the Finishing Touch (Optional):

  1. Top the plate with a few shrimp for a refined presentation.
  2. Garnish with a sprig of mint or chopped chives for added freshness.

5. Serve Immediately:
